MEICA Technical Services (MTS) Ltd in Witney, Oxfordshire, is looking for an Electrician to deliver high-quality industrial electrical installations across UK projects. You will work under the Electrical Supervisor and Contract Managers and may develop ICA skills within the water sector.

The role requires a proactive Electrician with industrial electrical experience and a willingness to travel across the UK, including time away from home. A Full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent
  • 18th Edition qualification
  • ECS Gold Card and BS7671 knowledge
  • Industrial electrical experience
  • Ability to read electrical drawings
  • Full UK driving licence and good communication

Responsibilities

  • Carry out industrial electrical installations to BS7671.
  • Install containment, SWA, multicore, power, control and instrumentation cabling.
  • Install MCCs, control panels and field instrumentation.
  • Read drawings, schematics and cable schedules.
  • Assist with commissioning and fault finding.
  • Comply with Permit to Work systems and H&S.
  • Complete quality documentation.
  • Support apprentices and maintain housekeeping.

Based in Witney, Oxfordshire, MEICA Technical Services (MTS) Ltd is a specialist engineering contractor delivering Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) solutions across the water, utilities and energy sectors. Our core expertise lies within the UK water industry. In your role as an Electrician, you will work under the Electrical Supervisor and Contract Managers delivering high-quality industrial electrical installations with opportunities to develop specialist ICA skills.

The role requires a proactive Electrician with strong industrial electrical experience and, ideally, with some knowledge of Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) within the water industry. Projects are based throughout the UK and occasional working away from home is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out industrial electrical installations to BS7671.
  • Install containment, SWA, multicore, power, control and instrumentation cabling.
  • Install MCCs, control panels and field instrumentation.
  • Read drawings, schematics and cable schedules.
  • Assist with commissioning and fault finding.

Training & Development

Training will be provided in water industry standards, ICA systems, manufacturer equipment, Permit to Work systems and company procedures. Career progression is available to Senior Electrician, Electrical Supervisor and Contract Manager.

Hours, Holidays & Benefits
  • Full-time permanent position.
  • 40-hour week plus paid travel (travel paid door to door – on a flat rate. approx. 7-10 hours per week travel).
  • Overtime available.
