Job summary

J3A Recruitment are proud to be working with a leading MEICA business who specialise in providing a professional engineering service for leading frameworks including Southern Water and Thames Water. The Electrician will play a key technical role within the business, carrying out electrical installation, service and maintenance work across multiple projects on Thames Water and Southern Water sites.

The role requires completing an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent, 18th Edition BS7671, and

Qualifications

  • Full electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • Experience in the water industry is advantageous.
  • ECS Gold Card holder.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical installation, service and maintenance work across multiple projects.
  • Install, service and repair low voltage control systems.
  • Install and maintain instrumentation systems (pressure, level, temperature, flow).
  • Lead working parties and supervise junior team members with safety adherence.
  • Testing and inspection of electrical installations per NICEIC/EC standards.
  • Produce technical reports and documentation for senior engineers.

Job description

Electrician - £20 - £24 per hour + Overtime Rates - Water Industry - 33 Days Holiday - Opportunity to upskill and gain ICA experience

J3A Recruitment are proud to be working with a leading MEICA business who specialise in providing a professional engineering service for leading frameworks including; Southern Water and Thames Water.

The Electrician will play a key technical role within the business, setting high standards of professionalism and conduct. Reporting to an assigned Project Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical installation, service, and maintenance work across multiple projects, including work on Thames Water and Southern Water sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installation work in accordance with BS7671 regulations.
  • Install, service, and repair a range of low voltage electrical control systems.
  • Install and maintain instrumentation systems (e.g., pressure, level, temperature, flow).
  • Lead working parties and supervise junior team members when required, ensuring adherence to Health & Safety standards.
  • Carry out testing and inspection of electrical installations, providing documentation as per NICEIC, ECA, or equivalent certification standards.
  • Produce technical reports and necessary documentation for senior engineering professionals.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Full electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • Previous experience within the water industry is a huge advantage
  • ECS Gold Card holder.

Desirable Skills

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • 2391 Test & Inspection
  • Experience working on Instrumentation, Control Systems and Automation would be highly advantageous
  • SSSTS / SMSTS is a massive bonus
  • Water industry experience is preferred but not essential.
