Primary Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire
Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned and qualified Specialist Electrician to enhance our property maintenance team, with the core operational area focused on Salisbury. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance and safety across our residential properties, demanding proficiency in electrical testing and a rapid response capability for maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Mandatory Testing Cycle:
    • Oversee and execute the five-year scheduled electrical safety inspection (EICR) program across all allocated properties, including domestic units and shared housing facilities.
    • Perform all necessary remedial actions and circuit upgrades identified during inspection to ensure full compliance.
    • Complete initial verification and testing procedures for all new electrical circuits and installations.
  • Property Services and Upgrades:
    • Deliver efficient reactive maintenance and fault diagnosis services to address resident electrical issues.
    • Complete all electrical installation and safety checks required for vacant properties "voids" to prepare them for re-letting quickly.
    • Support large-scale capital improvement projects, including the necessary electrical fitting for modernizations of bathrooms, kitchens, and heating systems.
    • Install, upgrade, and maintain electrical services, particularly lighting, within communal and exterior areas.
  • Documentation and Standards:
    • Scrupulously adhere to the IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) and relevant building standards.
    • Accurately document all work, generating and submitting required electrical certificates using digital certification software (e.g., compliant with NICEIC standards).
    • Maintain precise records detailing all inspections, tests, and maintenance interventions.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Ensure positive and professional communication with all tenants, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
    • Guarantee that all work executed is of the highest safety and technical quality.
Essential Candidate Requirements

Applicants must meet the following critical criteria:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Maintenance, or a formally recognised equivalent qualification or apprenticeship.
  • Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (e.g., City & Guilds 2382-18).
  • Possession of the AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) Certificate - This is a non-negotiable requirement.
  • Formal qualification in the Inspection, Testing, and Certification of Electrical Installations (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or the combined 2394/2395 certifications).
  • Proven experience in domestic electrical installation, maintenance, and fault resolution.
  • Valid, full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience within the social housing or facilities management sector is a strong advantage.
