HMP Bronzefield is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our professional facilities team. This is an opportunity for a disciplined, proactive, and hands-on individual who takes pride in delivering safe, compliant, and reliable electrical services within a secure custodial environment.

We require someone with demonstrable experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and fault finding, with a strong commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance. This role is integral to maintaining business continuity, ensuring statutory compliance, and upholding the highest standards of asset management across the estate.

About the Role
  • Perform the repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical systems and associated plant equipment, ensuring they meet safety standards and statutory compliance
  • Carry out a variety of electrical maintenance tasks including PPMs, emergency lighting checks, RCD, and first-line response to work orders
  • Handle minor installations and repairs, such as lighting, sockets, switches, and plant equipment
  • Support beyond the toolbox - pitch in with basic plumbing, unblocking drains, and odd jobs like installing shelves or notice boards
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and related building services, such as HVAC, fire alarm systems, to ensure optimal operation
  • Quickly diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise downtime, ensuring timely repairs and maintaining service continuity
  • Ensure all maintenance work adheres to relevant health and safety regulations, including Sodexo\'s procedures and the latest legislation, to ensure a safe working environment
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance, providing clear documentation for management and clients
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and contractors to deliver high-quality service and ensure effective communication of engineering and building issues impacting service delivery
  • Working in line with the Permit to Work System
  • Use of IT systems (Handheld device)
What we\'re looking for
  • City and Guilds/NVQ Level 1,2,3 qualification in Electrical
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installations in commercial buildings and building services
  • Good computer skills (MS Office, PDA\'s etc)
  • Good knowledge of HVAC Systems
  • Experience of PPM, Reactive and Installation Work
