My client is a growing contractor delivering high-quality refurbishment, maintenance, and compliance services across the social housing sectors. With a reputation for professionalism, safety, and attention to detail, they are looking to expand our electrical team with experienced, motivated engineers who take pride in their work.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrical Engineer to join our team. The role involves carrying out a wide range of electrical works including testing, inspection, fault finding, repairs, and small installations across occupied and void social housing properties, as well as commercial sites.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in line with current regulations.
2. Perform testing and inspection on electrical systems to ensure compliance.
3. Carry out repairs, maintenance, upgrades, and minor installations.
4. Diagnose and rectify electrical faults in a timely and professional manner.
5. Complete all necessary paperwork and certification accurately and promptly.
6. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
7. Communicate effectively with tenants, clients, and site teams.
8. Work independently or as part of a wider site team depending on project size.

Essential Requirements

1. City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) Testing & Inspection qualification – Essential
2. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) – Essential
3. Proven experience working within the social housing sector.
4. Ability to work across occupied and void properties with sensitivity and professionalism.
5. Strong understanding of current electrical regulations and best practice.
6. Full UK Driving Licence (Preferred but not essential)
7. Own tools and van
8. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
9. ECS / JIB Gold Card

Package (Permanent Role)

Competitive salary of £40,000 – £50,000 (based on experience)
Company vehicle or vehicle allowance

Self-Employed Option

We also welcome self-employed engineers.
Day rate: £200/day
Work schedule: Monday–Friday, standard hours
Weekly pay with long-term pipeline of work
