Kingston University Service Company Ltd (KUSCO) is seeking a qualified Electrician to support Kingston University’s campus across a busy estate, delivering both planned and reactive electrical maintenance. You will help keep buildings safe, compliant and fully operational for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
• Experience carrying out electrical maintenance in commercial/building services environments
• Familiarity with CAFM systems (Planon) or BMS
• 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification or equivalent

Responsabilités

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical repairs across campus buildings
• Diagnosing faults and troubleshooting building services and infrastructure
• Installing, maintaining and testing electrical systems, equipment and components
• Carrying out inspection and testing in line with current regulations and standards
• Using CAFM (Planon) and BMS systems to log work and monitor performance
• Collaborating with colleagues, contractors and university staff to deliver efficient service
• Ensuring all work complies with health and safety legislation and electrical compliance

Salary: £37,400 - £38,500 per annum + circa £1,200 per annum for on call

As an Electrician, you'll deliver both planned and reactive electrical maintenance across campus, ensuring buildings and electrical systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

You will be responsible for maintaining, fault-finding, repairing and testing a wide range of electrical installations whilst delivering a high standard of customer service across the University estate.

As our Electrician you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical repairs across campus buildings
• Diagnosing faults, troubleshooting issues and carrying out electrical repairs to building services and infrastructure
• Installing, maintaining and testing electrical systems, equipment and components
• Carrying out inspection and testing works in accordance with current regulations and standards
• Using CAFM (Planon) and BMS systems to log work, record activities and monitor building performance
• Working closely with colleagues, contractors and university staff to deliver an efficient maintenance service
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety legislation and electrical compliance requirements
• Participating in the on-call rota to support out-of-hours maintenance requirements

What We're Looking For

• Recognised Electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
• Experience carrying out electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs within commercial, facilities management or building services environments
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations and safety regulations
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and customer service skills

It would be great if you had:

• 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification or equivalent
• Experience working in a university, healthcare, public sector or large-site environment
• Familiarity with CAFM systems (e.g. Planon) or Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Experience supervising contractors or supporting small electrical projects
