Job summary

Mears Group PLC is seeking a skilled Electrician for our Govanhill contract. This role involves hands-on maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems in void properties, with a focus on reliability and timely job completion.

The candidate will perform installations, servicing and testing, working both independently and as part of a team, and will require relevant qualifications and a clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience installing, servicing, fault finding, and maintaining electrical systems within the social housing sector.
• Experience with first and second fix electrical installations and testing.
• Experience repairing electrical accessories (sockets, extractor fans, light switches).

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and install electrical systems across void properties within the Govanhill contract.
• Carry out first and second fix electrical installations.
• Inspect, test and service electrical installations and repairs.

Job description

Annual salary: up to £36,800.00

Void Electrician

Location: Govanhill

Contract: Permanent, Full - Time

Salary: £36,800 per annum, plus company van & fuel card

Hours: Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week

We're currently looking for a skilled and qualified Electrician to join our team in Tannochside. This is a hands-on, field-based role where you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems across void properties within our Govanhill contract

Electrical Duties

• You will need to have proven experience installing, servicing, fault finding, and maintaining electrical systems within the social housing sector.
• You will have a strong knowledge of installing, repairing, inspecting, and testing electrical installations and carrying out repairs within void properties.
• The role will include carrying out repairs to electrical accessories such as sockets, extractor fans, and light switches.
• You will also be expected to have knowledge and experience of first fix and second fix electrical installations.

Role Criteria

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations - to include AM2
• City & Guilds 18th Edition (If you have 17th edition you can work through your 18th edition)
• Full UK driving licence
• Previous domestic, social housing experience
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team
• Inspection and Testing 2391 or equivalent (2394/2395)

Desirable

• Experience carrying out kitchen rewires
