Job summary

Mears Group is seeking a skilled Electrician for a field-based role in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire. You will carry out electrical repairs and maintenance across social housing properties, ensuring safety and quality while delivering excellent customer service.

The role offers a full-time permanent contract with a 40-hour week (8:30am-5pm Mon-Fri) and a company van with a fuel card. Join a team committed to improving homes and communities across the UK.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations including AM2/18th Edition.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience in domestic/social housing.
  • 2391 or equivalent inspection and testing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical repairs and maintenance in social housing properties.
  • Inspect and test electrical installations.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and records for all completed work.
  • Identify and report any additional work through the correct authorisation process.
  • Attend training sessions, meetings and toolbox talks as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional approach at all times.

We are looking for a skilled Electrician to join our team in North Lanarkshire, carrying out a range of electrical repairs and maintenance works across social housing properties. About the Role

Electrical Duties
  • Carry out electrical repairs and maintenance works within social housing properties
  • Complete inspection and testing of electrical installations
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and BS 7671 requirements
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and electronic records for all completed work
  • Identify and report any additional work required through the correct authorisation process
  • Manage materials and van stock in line with company procedures
  • Attend training sessions, meetings and toolbox talks as required
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional approach at all times
  • Report any safeguarding concerns in accordance with company policy
  • Maintain company vehicle in line with company requirements
  • Participate in emergency call out cover when required
Role Criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations - to include AM2 City & Guilds 18th Edition (If you have 17th edition you can work through your 18th edition)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Previous domestic, social housing experience
  • Inspection and Testing 2391 or equivalent (2394/2395)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and customer service skills
