Job description

Equans is looking for an Electrician to join our team in Dunbar at Torness Power Station on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week for our EDF contract. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:

• Attends pre-job briefings and asks questions to check understanding.
• Reads and understands Work Orders, Instructions, and Method Statements.
• Selects equipment for the job and checks that it is in good working order.
• Selects appropriate materials for the job and ensures they are in proper working condition.
• Reads and understands wiring diagrams relevant to the task.
• Communicates with the client.
• Capable of installing cable, conduit, and tray.
• Cleans and tidies the work area upon completion.
• Removes barriers/signs at the appropriate time.
• Disposes of equipment according to instructions and legislation.
• Completes Work Order cards indicating work completed.

Impact:

As an effective member of the Hard Services Team, you will focus on customer care with a can-do attitude and the flexibility to work within a team in a changing business environment.

Complexity:

• Be able to rectify problems where appropriate, following correct procedures.
• Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical, and Environmental).
• Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

• Recognized Apprenticeship/NVQ Qualification.
• ECS Health and Safety certification.
• 18th Edition Electrical Installation Inspection and Testing to BS or greater.
• Electrical experience in commercial and industrial installations.
• Experience of working on Nuclear sites is preferred but not essential.
• Lighting and small power installations.
• Testing and inspection.
• Panel modifications and builds.
• Cat 5 installations.
• Safe electrical isolation procedures.
