Job Description
Your new company
You will be working on-site at HMP Erlestoke. HMP Erlestoke is a Category C men's prison.
Your new role
As part of your new role, you will be responsible for the electrical work on installation projects within the prison site, whether in staff buildings or prisoners' wings. Please note, prisoners may be in your surroundings. This will be a fast-paced role, and you will be required to meet set deadlines in a timely manner. Full-time, Monday to Friday, up to 3 months' worth of work, potentially more for the right person.
Previous experience in a prison/public sector is not required for this role. The nature of the role requires candidates to be security-conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks. You will also need to be reliable and consistent, level-headed, and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Full training on working within a prison is provided by the establishment/department.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified electrician ideally with installation experience and hold your 18th Edition qualification, NVQ Level 3 in Electricals, and a valid CSCS would be a bonus. Time-served applicants or lower-level editions will not be considered.
