This company has a significant presence in the local area and is responsible for delivering key utilities to domestic/residential and commercial premises, primarily through several Combined Heat-Power plants as well as Renewable Energy assets covering technologies such as Solar PV and Heat Pumps.

In this role, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of key company assets that provide heat, power, and chilled water to the surrounding area. This will include power generation and power transmission equipment, electrical distribution systems, and associated plant.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in carrying out electrical maintenance on large plant such as generators, switchgear, distribution boards, or similar. This experience can come from a variety of backgrounds such as building services, power generation, industrial electrical maintenance, or ex-forces (Navy, RAF, REME, Electrical Mechanics).

The role:

  • Operating, servicing, maintaining, and monitoring electrical plant such as generators, switchgear, transformers, and power distribution equipment.

  • Carrying out PPM in line with maintenance schedules.
  • Striving to maximise system availability and efficiency while minimising life cycle costs.
  • Maintaining an accurate log of works undertaken and parts used.
  • Monitoring and operating cooling towers in line with legionella management system.

The person:

  • Experienced with electrical servicing, maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis.
  • 18th Edition and 2391 Inspection & Testing qualifications required.
  • Relevant electrical qualifications to City & Guilds/NVQ Standard or similar.
  • IOSH Working Safely or similar H&S qualification (desirable).

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations team's activities and conducting repairs on a variety of process and monitoring equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise technical manuals, drawings, circuit diagrams, and schematics to provide technical advice and guidance.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on manufacturing process equipment.
  • Conduct fault-finding and repairs down to the component level on a diverse range of equipment.
  • Mentor and support more junior members of the Maintenance team when required.
  • No day is the same and the work is extremely varied, interesting and challenging.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
