Job summary

SettleParadigm is recruiting three Electricians to join our Repairs and Maintenance service. You will perform electrical repairs, testing, fault finding, installations and maintenance across our homes and communal areas in a mobile role.

Role is hands-on, with a focus on safe, compliant, high-quality electrical work and right-first-time delivery. You will receive a company van, tablet and phone for job updates and documentation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience carrying out electrical repairs, installations, testing and inspection.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving electrical faults.
• Experience working in responsive repairs or maintenance, ideally within social housing.
• Strong technical knowledge of domestic and communal electrical systems.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of BS 7671 and electrical safety standards.
• Ability to complete electrical certification accurately.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, fault finding, testing and installation work across residential and communal areas.
• Complete all electrical work to a high standard, unsupervised, and in line with BS 7671 and organisational requirements.
• Diagnose electrical faults and determine appropriate remedial actions, escalating complex issues when needed.
• Complete all required certification accurately and on time, including minor works, installation and periodic testing documentation.
• Manage work orders proactively, including follow‑on works, cancellations and changes in status.
• Identify and report unsafe installations, compliance concerns or risks.
• Maintain van stock, record material usage and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Provide clear updates and reports for outstanding or non‑completed works.
• Communicate effectively with residents, keeping them informed of works and access requirements.
• Ensure work areas are left safe, clean and tidy on completion.
• Drive company vehicles safely and maintain them in a clean, roadworthy condition.

About the role

We are recruiting three Electricians to join our Repairs and Maintenance service. You will carry out electrical repairs, testing, fault finding, installations and maintenance across our homes and communal areas. The role is hands‑on, mobile and focused on delivering safe, compliant and high‑quality electrical work with a strong emphasis on right‑first‑time delivery and positive resident outcomes.

You’ll work both on your own and as part of a team, carrying out repairs, preparing empty homes for new residents, completing planned maintenance work, and carrying out electrical safety checks. You’ll be provided with a mobile phone and tablet to receive your jobs, update progress throughout the day, and record any certificates or paperwork needed for completed work. Current area of work: HP, UB, SL postcodes (South Bucks/Middlesex). Areas we also cover: Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties.

About you

Essential Criteria

• Competent using PDAs, mobile working tools and repairs management systems
• NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification (or equivalent) with AM2 where required
• OR ECS Gold Card level for Installation or Maintenance Electrician
• Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2018)
• Full valid UK driving licence

Desired

• Level 3 Award in Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations
• Experience working within social housing
