Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) in Bournemouth is seeking a Shift Technician to deliver planned preventative and reactive maintenance for electrical, fire life safety and mechanical building services. You will monitor plant operations, issue permits, and coordinate specialist sub-contractors while ensuring safety and compliance with HASAWA.

The role requires a hands-on engineering background, knowledge of building systems, and a proactive, customer-focused approach to keeping facilities

Qualifications

• Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship completed.
• Experience with business-critical assets: UPS, emergency power, cooling, fire life safety.
• HSE accredited or recognised training.
• Experience with electrical/mechanical building assets and systems.
• Experience with building BMS controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Electrical, Fire life safety and Mechanical building services and equipment.
• Coordinate with admin to close PPM and reactive tasks on time.
• Report all engineering activity and incidents to Shift Leader.
• Complete PPMs within SLA; follow HASAWA and site standards.
• Maintain onsite QA procedures and keep accurate records.
• Respond to reactive maintenance and help desk requests promptly.
• Coordinate visiting sub-contractors and review engineering reports with Shift Leader.
• Liaise with building users and respond to requests professionally.

Due to a promotion, we are looking for an Shift Technician to join our award winning team in Bournemouth. This exciting opportunity will require the Shift Technician will implement Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, small projects and help desk calls, in accordance with both client and JLL requirements. They will also monitor the building operational function and issue permit to work for all specialist vendors and carry out appropriate isolations via LOTO. What this job involves Taking responsibility for the maintenance and reactive repairs of Electrical, Fire life safety and Mechanical building services and associated equipment. Liaising with admin staff to ensure timely closures and completions, for PPM and reactive tasks. Reporting all engineering activity and incidents to the Shift Leader. Ensuring all PPM activity is completed within set SLA schedules, ensuring engineering standards and in country regulations are applied and maintained, to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the plant and associated systems. Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements, and account specific standards of excellence. Ensuring onsite quality assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects, and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the aspects of all work activity. Responding in a prompt and effective manner to all reactive maintenance issues, and help desk requests. Co-ordinating visiting specialist sub-contractors, and to review engineering reports and recommendations with the shift leader. Liaising with and maintaining, good working relations with all building users, and responding in a positive manner at all times to any requests or instructions.

• Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship.
• Working knowledge of business-critical assets which would include UPS, Emergency power Generation, Air conditioning systems and Fire life safety.
• HSE accredited/ recognised training course(s).
• Experience in the Electrical / Mechanical aspects of commercial building assets and systems.
• Experience with understanding cause and effect with regards to building BMS controls.
• Experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of excellence in the field.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Pro-active attitude and approach.
