Job summary

Mears Group PLC is seeking a skilled electrician to join our field-based team across the Northwest. This permanent, full-time role involves maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems in tenanted and void properties.

You’ll work a Monday–Friday schedule (42.5 hours) with a company vehicle, fuel card, and uniform provided. Relevant qualifications and a clean UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience installing, servicing, fault-finding and maintaining electrical systems in housing sectors.
• Strong knowledge of installation, repair, inspection and testing of electrical installations in tenanted properties.
• Experience carrying out repairs to electrical accessories and systems.
• Knowledge and experience of electrical inspection and testing.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain electrical systems in tenanted and void properties across the Northwest.
• Fault-find and repair electrical installations and carry out testing as required.
• Repair electrical accessories and systems as part of routine and reactive works.
• Carry out electrical inspection and testing following required standards.

Annual salary: up to £42,126.00

Electrician

Location: Northwest

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £42,126 per annum, plus company van and fuel card

Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week, 8:00 am–5:00 pm

We’re currently looking for a skilled and qualified electrician to join our team, working across the Northwest region. This is a hand on, field-based role where you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems in tenanted and void properties.

The ideal candidate will have good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

Electrical Duties

• You will need proven experience in installing, servicing, fault-finding and maintaining electrical systems within the social and private housing sectors.
• You will have a strong knowledge of installing, repairing, inspecting and testing electrical installations, as well as carrying out repairs in tenanted properties.
• The role will include carrying out repairs to electrical accessories and systems.
• You will need knowledge and experience of electrical inspection and testing.

Role Criteria

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations, including AM2
• City & Guilds 18th Edition qualification
• Inspection and Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent, such as 2394/2395)
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Previous experience in domestic electrical work or social housing
