A leading UK drinks manufacturer based in Stockport is seeking an Electrically Biased Shift Technician. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical skills along with experience in the food FMCG industry. Job Title: Electrically Biased Shift Technician (Multi Skilled) – Food and Drink Industry

Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester

Salary: £44,000 per annum + 7% pension, 27 days holiday

Shift Pattern: 4-week rotating shift - Monday to Friday – No nights

Role Description
  • Perform departmental duties as instructed by the Engineering Maintenance Manager within agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain all equipment to standards set by the company.
  • Provide electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process maintenance on production and site assets.
  • Diagnose faults on automated systems using laptops and PLCs.
  • Assist in the development of engineering apprentices.
  • Carry out PPM and breakdown repairs effectively.
  • Promote high standards of workmanship and participate in Continuous Improvement activities, creating T-Cards for these initiatives.
  • Record all parts used for maintenance and repairs accurately.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure compliance with all safety and engineering regulations (COSHH, PUWER, EAWR, LOLER, BS7671).
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in food FMCG or similar process industry.
  • Electrical qualification (preferably HNC) or a time-served apprenticeship.
  • Multiskilled with strong electrical and mechanical skills.
