Overview
First Military Recruitment is partnering with a refrigeration business to recruit an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to support the upkeep of factory plant equipment at their depot in Wrexham. This is a permanent position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance tasks efficiently during shifts.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance, hygiene, and logistics teams.
- Support team members during absences and breaks.
- Follow all work instructions, procedures, and job descriptions.
- Complete Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks.
- Maintain accurate paperwork.
- Coordinate with other functions to ensure smooth operations.
- Meet operational targets and ensure safety and quality standards.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues promptly.
- Order spare parts and liaise with suppliers as needed.
- Log parts and work details accurately.
- Report on downtime, quality issues, and completed work to management.
- Identify potential problems proactively and take appropriate action.
- Work closely with logistics and engineering managers for smooth handovers.
- Instruct unskilled/semi-skilled personnel in equipment operation.
- Use power tools and equipment safely.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing, processing, warehouse, or cold-store industries.
- Electrical qualifications and apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in English (written and oral).
- Basic Health & Safety knowledge.
- Strong data and analytical skills.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, Windows).
Desirable Skills:
- PLC knowledge.
- Experience with hydraulic and temperature control systems.
- Instrumentation systems experience.
- Welding skills.
- FLT/MEWP license.
Additional Details:
- Location: Wrexham
- Salary: £38,300
- Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm plus overtime
