Job description
Overview

My client is recruiting for an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to work on shift.

Salary: £42,500 - £50,000 (Apply online only) + Package

Rotating shift pattern: 6-2pm, 2pm-12am, 10pm - 6am

Location: At their manufacturing site, close to Harrogate, Knaresborough and York.

Site context: 155 colleagues pack 600,(Apply online only) packs of vegetables every week. A state-of-the-art vegetable washer and grader has been installed to help produce vegetables faster and smarter.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, work closely with the production team to ensure machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption.
  • Work collaboratively within the engineering team, providing support in investigating means of improving plant productivity and investigating and establishing causes for all breakdowns and damages.
  • Action repairs and ensure that all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised; involved in electrical and mechanical proactive and reactive maintenance.
  • Ensure that all necessary spare parts, materials and equipment are available.
  • Investigate and establish causes of all breakdowns and damages.
  • Be involved in both electrical and mechanical reactive and proactive maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Ideally NVQ level 3 electrically qualified or HNC/ONC or modern apprentice trained.

These are high-speed vegetable processing and packaging lines in a vegetable processing value-add plant. The company is the second largest food manufacturing company in the UK with 18 sites.
