Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an electrically biased mobile building services engineer to join our team working on key contracts within Scotland. You must hold a full UK driving license, as the use of a company vehicle may be required.

You will be responsible for general maintenance and statutory compliance checks. The ideal candidate will be C&G qualified in your specific discipline, with some basic skills in all maintenance roles, including fabric maintenance, and experience working in similar environments.

The role requires client engagement and a proactive approach to providing solutions that meet client needs. Maintaining a professional appearance and good communication skills in English are essential.

Early starts and late finishes may be necessary to complete disruptive works with minimal client disruption. The role also involves planning materials, providing quotations, and managing client expectations.

Experience with CAFM systems is desirable, as all work is managed via a CAFM-based solution. H&S experience is also desirable, especially for managing subcontractors.

Main Duties:

  • Planning, inspecting, and performing repairs or preventative maintenance, and responding to breakdowns promptly.
  • Installation and servicing of electrical and mechanical components in various environments.
  • Conducting statutory inspections such as emergency lighting, water temperature checks, fire door inspections, plumbing repairs, lighting checks, and other reactive works.
  • Representing the company professionally, handling complaints and queries.
  • Supervising subcontractors on-site.
  • Providing technical guidance to clients and supporting contracts.
  • Performing minor fabric repairs.
  • Ensuring all work complies with specifications and health & safety legislation.
  • Maintaining accurate site documentation.

To be successful, you will need:

  • C&G qualification
  • Good IT literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
  • NVQ Level 2 or higher in a building discipline
  • Desirable: C&G 2391 or similar, Legionella control qualification
  • Experience in plumbing, carpentry, redecoration, and statutory inspections with health & safety awareness
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance regimes
  • Experience with risk assessments, method statements, and permit to work
  • Experience with BMS systems
  • Knowledge of maintenance schedules and SFG 20 is desirable
  • Ability to record work accurately on worksheets and digital systems
  • Must hold a full UK driving license, as a company vehicle may be used.
