This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

The salary for this role is £54,376(inclusive of a Specialist Allowance-£6,000). Onsite working is expected, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.

This role is based at Culham, Oxfordshire.

The Role

As the Electrical Workshop Manager, you will manage a team of electrical technicians to ensure the delivery of equipment through the Electrical Workshop and other assembly and manufacturing areas, supporting projects across RACE. You will provide technical leadership to the technicians, support electrical manufacturing and installation, and act as an Area Supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Supporting the RACE Remote Handling Electrical Plant Manager in planning activities and providing resources for upgrades, maintenance, and fault-finding on electrical equipment.
• Ensuring suitable and sufficient risk assessments and procedures are in place for safe working within the RACE Electrical Workshop and related manufacturing areas.
• Hands-on electrical manufacturing and installation tasks.
• Managing contract staff, including task specification and performance tracking.
• Approving and signing off on the quality of work performed by technician staff and contractors.

Please note, you may be required to work in radiological areas.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

• HNC/HND, recognized electrical engineering apprenticeship, or equivalent experience
• Qualified to the current BS7671 Wiring Regulations and IPC/WHMA-A-620 trained
• Extensive experience in manufacture and testing of electrical equipment and systems
• Demonstrable experience in supervising a workshop and managing technicians
