Job summary

Primech Building Services is seeking an experienced commercial electrician working supervisor ready to lead a field installation team. You'll stay on the tools while directing a crew on retrofit projects across schools, hospitals, and office blocks, with multi-site or single-site arrangements.

You will own the programme, mentor apprentices, handle RAMS and site rules, and report progress through our job management system. A clear development path to Project Manager awaits as Primech grows.

Responsibilities

Job description

Primech Building Services is growing fast, and we're looking for an experienced commercial electrician working supervisor or someone who is ready to step up and lead.

As our Electrical Working Supervisor, you'll stay on the tools while taking control of a field installation team. The team will flex with project needs, with potentially multi-site small team or single teams of circa 10-15 electricians.

Delivery mainly in retrofit schemes across schools, hospitals, office blocks and secure public-sector sites which may include new build depending on project.

This role suits someone who takes pride in their workmanship and is ready to take ownership of a team, its programme and its results. In return, you'll get a clear development path and the chance to grow with Primech as we expand.

Leadership & Delivery

• Lead, organise and motivate the electrical team on site, allocating labour and tasks each day to meet the programme.
• Run daily briefings and toolbox talks, and make sure RAMS, permits and site rules are understood and followed.
• Act as the sites first point of contact for main contractors, site managers and interaction with other trades.
• Mentor and develop improvers, adult trainees and apprentices.
• Manage team conduct, attendance and timesheets and keep high standards of professionalism on client sites.

Commercial & Programme

• Work with appointed Project Managers on delivery plans, labour loading and sequencing.
• Track progress against programme and allowed hours, and raise risks and delays early.
• Identify, record and report variations and extra works accurately.
• Plan and requisition materials, controlling waste and site stock.
• Complete daily and weekly progress reports and job records using our job management system.

Technical

• Read and interpret schematic and layout drawings.
• Experienced in Installing containment systems and install and terminate singles, T&E, SWA and fire-retardant cables.
• Complete final connections, energisation, testing and inspection, and check and sign off the team's testing.
• Find and fix faults and carry out QA, snagging and handover, including supporting certification and O&M information.
• Make sure all works meet BS 7671 and Primech's standards and procedures.

Essential

• C&G 2360/2361/2362 or C&G 2365, plus AM2.
• 18th Edition (BS 7671) and C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing.
• JIB/ECS Gold Card.
• SSSTS, or willing to achieve it within six months.
• Proven experience leading electrical teams on commercial projects.
• Full UK driving licence, and able to obtain enhanced DBS and security clearance.

Desirable

• SMSTS, IPAF/PASMA and First Aid at Work.
• Fire alarm and emergency lighting experience (BS 5839/5266).
• C&G 2396 Design.
