Qualifications

This is a new opportunity for an Electrical Vehicle Infrastructure (EVI) Design Lead to join our Engineering Team based in London, UK.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead electrical design projects from concept to detailed design, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Undertake complex electrical designs and coordinate with other disciplines throughout the full design lifecycle.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of professionals and technical staff, including contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, especially in the highways sector.
  • Manage project budgets and design approval processes.
  • Provide technical guidance during design and operational phases.
  • Develop, review, and approve electrical designs and specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on site works during construction.
  • Conduct testing and inspections in line with BS 7671 – 18th Edition and the IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and innovations.
  • Engage in continuous personal development and learning.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Electrical Engineering Degree / Master’s or equivalent, or relevant experience.
  • Registered or eligible to register with the Highways Electrical Registration scheme (HERs).
  • Knowledge of Fifth Edition of the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation, BS 7671 - 18th Edition, and PAS 1899.
  • Experience in design and operational delivery within EVI or related fields.
  • Strong project management skills and supervision experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Trimble).
  • Experience managing electrical designs with other disciplines.
  • Understanding of costing, design approval, testing, and quality control processes.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience in highways electrical assets sector.
  • Proficiency with cabling design software and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
