Job Description

Position Title: Electrical Vehicle EDS Test Technician

Duration: Contract OUTSIDE IR35

Location: Hybrid Working - 3-4 Days on site in Warwick

*Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.*

Essential Criteria

You will support the Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test with:

  1. Electrical function, performance and reliability tests relating to the complete EDS system including CAN architecture / network testing.
  2. Harness Terminal Voltage
  3. Harness Body Earth Capacity
  4. Charging System Fusible Link
  5. Fuse & Relay Capacity
  6. Fusible Link Capacity
  7. Function Misconnection
  8. Main Boding Earth Safety & Security
  9. Lead concern identification to root cause investigation including countermeasure recommendation.
  10. Support design departments to ensure the quality of component testing
  11. Overall vehicle test technical coordination role where required (project leader).
  12. Formal reporting of test results to design sections and to upper management
  13. Ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously
  14. Technical support to the production plant and test house when necessary
  15. Field investigation support as required for responsible systems
  16. Some management of suppliers

Responsibilities:

  1. Test/investigation reports, test plan, and test method
  2. Secure the quality of electrical systems to Client standards
  3. Complete responsible validation within project milestones

Skills:

  1. Have working knowledge of the Clients' electrical architecture
  2. Understand electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices
  3. Understanding of the fundamentals electromagnetics
  4. Understanding of component and vehicle EMC test requirements
  5. Have fluent written and verbal English capability.
  6. Have experience risk assessment of electrical design and of test plans
  7. Understand network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
  8. Be able to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections
  9. Be able to demonstrate and have practical experience in problem solving tools and techniques
  10. Be conversant with digital oscilloscopes, network and RF measurement equipment.

Additional Information:

  1. Have relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development, completing a minimum of two vehicle developments, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  2. Have good written and verbal communication
  3. Be able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions travel may be long distance and for up to 10 weeks and/or at short notice.
  4. Competent with PC applications, including Microsoft excel and project.
  5. Self-motivating and self-managing.
  6. Pro-active.
  7. Positive.
  8. Energetic personality and flexible regarding working practice and working hours.
  9. Ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously
