Job summary

Able Personnel in the East Midlands is seeking an Electrical Tutor to deliver Solar PV, EV charging and battery storage courses to employed and self-employed electricians. The position is based in Nottingham/Derby with a four-day work week, a day rate of £250, and a 12-month contract.

You will assess learners, design engaging lessons, and ensure timely completion of portfolios and records in line with awarding bodies and internal processes.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in solar PV/battery storage.
• Must have Level 3 in EV charging.
• Health and Safety Level 3 or higher.
• Teaching/Assessing qualification.

Responsibilities

• Undertake an initial assessment with learners and plan SMART goals.
• Design and deliver engaging lessons with differentiation.
• Submit portfolios for verification and support quality improvement.
• Manage learner attendance and internal processes to meet targets.
• Plan delivery and assessment with a thorough scheme of work.
• Ensure all assessment paperwork is completed accurately.
• Complete assessments and documentation to meet requirements.
• Monitor attendance and intervene when needed with Line Manager.
• Identify risks to learner completion and provide additional support.

Electrical Tutor

We are looking for an electrical tutor to deliver Solar PV, EV charging and battery storage courses to predominantly employed and self employed electricians.

Key Responsibilities

• to undertake a thorough initial assessment with learners and agree an individual learning plan that meets their needs, is SMART and progresses them to their goals.
• To design and deliver engaging lessons that provide differentiation, meet the needs of all learners in the groups, achieve good learning outcomes and are of good quality
• Submit portfolios in a timely manner for interim and summative verification and work with the IV to ensure quality improvement.
• To be responsible for learner attendance, carrying out all internal processes and ensuring targets are achieved.
• To plan delivery and assessment in a thorough scheme of work and achieve timely success targets.
• To ensure all assessment paperwork and records are completed accurately.
• Timely completion of assessment and documentation to meet awarding body, audit, and organisational requirements.
• Monitor learner attendance and punctuality patterns and applying interventions where appropriate, escalating issues to Line Manager
• Identifying any risks surrounding learner completion/retention/success and putting together additional support and IAG to overcome barriers for learners.

Criteria

• At least level 3 in solar PV/battery storage and/or occupationally competent or technically knowledgeable/have experience assessing
• At least Level 3 in EV charging and/or occupationally competent or technically knowledgeable/have experience assessing
• Level 3 or above in Health and Safety
• Teaching/Assessing qualification
