Job summary

Alecto Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Testing Engineer to lead testing and remedials within commercial maintenance contracts and domestic settings across Oxfordshire and surrounding areas. The role is hybrid—full-time with one day per week working from home to complete test sheets and verify results.

The ideal candidate is an approved electrician with 18th Edition (BS7671), NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent, and proven testing experience.

• Full UK driving license required.

Responsibilities

Electrical Testing Engineer

Location: Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire & surrounding Home Counties areas

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Hybrid role - FT position - 1 day WFH to complete test sheets & verify

The Role

take a lead part in testing & remedials within our commercial maintenance contracts & domestic settings. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong, experienced tester who has developed a range of skills including problem solving, adaptability and is self‑motivated with the ability of self‑management and the choice to take the extra responsibility of being a QS.

This role will suit someone who is more than just a good electrician – Looking for someone who has been around the block, experienced, highly knowledgeable and maybe considering part time / full time testing – the role can be moulded to the right candidate.

Responsibilities Include

• Taking responsibility for the testing, certification & remedials.
• Dealing with clients directly with support from our admin team.
• Teaching your skills to an apprentice.
• Keeping up to date with current regulations and staying ahead of changes.
• Hybrid role - FT position - 1 day WFH to complete test sheets & verify.
• Working with NICEIC software.

What the client is looking for

• A qualified Approved Electrician with relevant electrical qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 18th Edition (BS7671).
• Proven experience in testing is essential.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving license.
• 2391 / 2392 Inspection & Testing or equivalent.
