Full-time – core working hours are 8-5; however, flexibility is required as work may involve evening, nights, and weekends as needed.

Our client, a specialist in electrical testing services, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Tester. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to identify and report potential hazards and compliance issues.

Their Field Test & Inspection team is central to their operations. They offer a commission structure that rewards your hard work, with additional pay for circuits completed beyond the daily minimum. There is plenty of work available, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to maximize earnings. Last year, the average bonus was £12k, with higher earners earning more.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in commercial and industrial environments.
2. Inspect and test electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, switchgear, and control equipment.
3. Identify and document defects, non-compliances, and potential safety hazards.
4. Provide clear reports on the condition of electrical installations, including recommendations for remedial actions.
5. Ensure all inspections comply with standards and regulations such as BS 7671 and IET Wiring Regulations.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practices.
7. Communicate findings effectively with clients, explaining issues and providing technical advice.
8. Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment as required.
9. Follow company policies, procedures, and safety protocols at all times.
10. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance technical skills.

Key Requirements:

1. Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical inspection or a related field.
2. City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) qualification in Inspection and Testing.
3. NVQ Level 3.
4. 18th Edition.
5. In-depth knowledge of BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations, and other standards.
6. Strong understanding of electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and reporting software.
9. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
10. Attention to detail and accuracy.
11. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
12. Valid UK driving license.
