Overview

Electrical Tester | Bristol / Taunton & Surrounding Areas | £46,400 Salary | Estimated Earnings £55-65K | Paid Weekly | Commercial Environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out testing and inspection, including EICRs and fixed wire testing, on commercial environments.
• Perform general electrical planned maintenance and electrical remedial works.
• Work on a mobile basis across Bristol, Taunton and surrounding areas.
• Carry out emergency lighting testing, lamps, ballasts, sockets, circuits, and interior and exterior decorative and security lighting.
• Work with transformers, power distribution, temporary power supplies, and install/repair/replace electrical accessories.
• Handle power supplies and electrical components within HVAC, fire and security systems, etc.

Package Summary

• Job Title: Electrical Tester
• Salary: £46,400 for standard hours (overtime, on-call rota and other payments may apply)
• Estimated annual earnings: £55,000 - £65,000
• Status: Permanent, PAYE - Paid Weekly
• Hours: Monday to Friday 07:00–17:30, including travel time; estimated site hours 08:00–16:30. Travel time paid after 30 minutes each way (from 07:30 to 17:00).
• Call out rota: 1 in 6 weeks. £100 per week standby (£800 per annum) + D2D pay if called out at overtime rates.
• Overtime rates: 1.5x for travel time; 2x for on-site hours.
• Company van, fuel card, uniform, phone provided.
• Van use: Business use only, with some flexibility for local or sensible personal use.
• 28 days paid holiday (including bank holidays) + pension.
• Company funded training, courses, up-skilling and development.

Requirements

• Must be a fully qualified Electrician (e.g., City & Guilds 236 Part 2 / City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 / NVQ Level 3).
• Must hold testing and inspection qualifications: City & Guilds 2391.
• Must have up-to-date regulations: City & Guilds 18th edition.
• Must be comfortable carrying out EICRs, Fixed Wire Testing and general planned electrical maintenance and remedial works.
• Must have a full UK driving license with under 9 points.
