Job summary

MBDA UK Ltd is seeking an Electrical Test Operator to support test and certification of circuit card assemblies and related electrical hardware in a fast-paced Manufacturing Operations environment. The role focuses on testing against drawings, maintaining 5S safety norms and delivering targets in time and cost with quality.

You will work with a large multi-disciplinary team across missile system projects, ensuring documentation is completed and issues are escalated for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Reading and understanding assembly drawings and planning instructions.
• Familiar with circuit card assembly would be beneficial.
• Competent with manufacturing equipment, tools and measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure completed hardware builds are tested in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Maintain a safe working environment in-line with 5S policies.
• Deliver in line with time, cost and quality requirements.
• Ensure assembly unit production costs are met.
• Maintain workmanship standards and product quality.
• Complete manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with Operators, Engineering and Quality for continuous improvement.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Test Operator to join our Circuit Card Assembly Manufacturing Operations team in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive Manufacturing environment.

Salary

£42,558

Dynamic (hybrid) working

5 days per week on-site due to workload classification

The opportunity

This opportunity is for an Electrical Test Operator to join the Manufacturing team supporting test and certification of a Circuit card Assembly and variety of electrical hardware builds, ranging from small fixtures through to complex missile systems, during all phases of the product lifecycle. You will be providing operations support to ensure programme targets are met to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.

• Ensuring that completed hardware builds are tested in accordance with drawing requirements and specifications;
• Maintaining a safe working environment in-line with 5S policies
• Always aiming to deliver in line with all time, cost and quality requirements
• Ensuring assembly unit production costs are met
• Maintaining, to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality
• Ensuring the completion of all manufacturing documentation
• Working closely with fellow Operators, Engineering and Quality to overcome any technical challenges and offer feedback for continuous improvement activities

You will be working with a large team of multi-disciplined operators in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive Manufacturing environment. The team has a great mix of people, ranging from apprentices through to experienced skilled technicians, all striving to deliver technical excellence across a number of different missile systems in development and production.

What we're looking for from you

• Qualifications required (all of the below):
  • Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard)
  • Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.)
  • Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ)
• Practiced in reading and understanding assembly drawings and planning instructions
• Circuit Card Assembly would be beneficial
• Fully conversant with all Manufacturing equipment, tools and measuring instruments
• Uses their initiative and can work without close supervision
• Goes 'the extra mile' to get work finished to a high standard
• Flexibility and adaptability
