Marshall Land Systems is seeking Electrical Test Engineers to assemble, install, and verify electrical and communication systems in deployable containerised products. The role focuses on compliant testing, documentation, and continuing improvement within a new Merthyr Tydfil site.
Responsibilities include wiring, inspections, fault-finding, and adherence to IPC-A-620 and BS 7671 standards. Training and full-time on-site work are available across contract and permanent roles.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Electrial Test Engineers to join Marshall Land Systems (https://marshalladg.com/) performing the assembly, installation and build of electrical systems and communication systems within deployable infrastructure containerised products ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and internal quality benchmarks. The role supports the delivery of safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems within containerised and mobile infrastructure solutions and are based at Marshall Land Systems’new site in Merthyr Tydfil (postcode is CF48 4DR). Assessment days are due to take place early September and there are contract and permanent roles available.
40 hours a week 7am - 4pm Monday - Thursday & 7am - 1pm Friday
Perform electrical testing and inspection of completed systems and sub-systems in accordance with BS 7671 and other relevant standards.
Ensure all test results are accurately recorded and reviewed before sign-off of the Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC).
Verify correct installation and operation of electrical and communication systems.
Identify and document non-conformances, raising issues through the appropriate quality channels.
Liaise with engineering and quality teams to resolve any discrepancies or failures identified during testing.
Support fault-finding and rectification activities in collaboration with the production and engineering teams.
Manufacturing and installing electrical circuits and communication systems into mobile workspaces and various electrical products and equipment.
Execute a range of wire-related tasks, including:
Looming, Crimping, Braiding, Soldering, Wire cutting, preparation and termination, Cable identification, Fibre Optic installation
Ensure all testing activities are completed in line with internal quality procedures and customer specifications.
Maintain accurate and detailed test records, including test certificates and inspection reports.
Reference IPC-A-620 and other applicable standards during inspection and verification of cable and wire harness assemblies.
Participate in internal and external audits as required.
Adhere to MADG Health and Safety Management Systems and safe working practices.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with 5S principles.
Use all required PPE correctly and report any safety concerns promptly.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and 5S practices.
Provide feedback on design and production processes to enhance testability and quality.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring test issues.
Accurately log test results and job progress using the IFS ERP system.
Maintain documentation required for traceability, quality control, and compliance.
Ensure all mandatory training and certifications are up to date.
Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
Operate as a proactive and collaborative member of the production team.
Be adaptable to changing project requirements and flexible with assigned tasks.
Communicate effectively with colleagues across departments to support project delivery.
Uphold Marshall Electrical Standardisation, BS 7671 and IPC-A-620 standards in all testing and inspection activities.
A minimum of a recognised Level 3 Electrical Installation Qualification plus,
A Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations plus,
A Level 3 Award in Electrical Installation Inspection, Testing, Certification and Reporting
Strong understanding of electrical testing procedures and standards
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Experience using electrical test equipment such as insulation testers, multimeters, and continuity testers.
Familiarity with production environments and quality assurance processes.
Competence in identifying and resolving electrical faults and non-conformances.
