Tec Partners Recruitment Ltd is assisting a growing UK manufacturer of specialist industrial machinery to recruit an electrically minded Test Engineer. The role focuses on testing, commissioning and fault-finding complete machines with strong emphasis on electrical, electronic and high-voltage systems, supported by mechanical and software know-how.

You will work across electrical, electronic, high-voltage, mechanical and software control systems, perform HV testing, support customer acceptance

Qualifications

• Electrical or electronic engineering qualification required.
• 5+ years in test or commissioning of capital equipment or complex machinery.
• Strong fault-finding across electrical, electronic, mechanical and software systems to PCB level.
• Experience with analogue and digital electronics.
• Experience of machine wiring and mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities

• Test and commission complete machines across electrical, electronic, high-voltage, mechanical and software control systems.
• Fault-find to component level, including PCB test and repair.
• Carry out high-voltage testing safely and to procedure.
• Support customer acceptance testing at the factory and on customer sites.
• Carry out machine wiring and mechanical assembly as required.
• Follow and develop test procedures, and produce work lists to track jobs.
• Complete quality records, including machine snag lists.
• Maintain calibrated test equipment and record work in Microsoft Office and the CRM/ERP system.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• A qualification in electrical or electronic engineering, or a closely related subject
• At least 5 years' experience in test or commissioning of capital equipment or complex machinery
• Strong fault-finding across electrical, electronic, mechanical and software systems, down to PCB component level
• Working knowledge of analogue and digital electronics
• Experience of machine wiring and mechanical assembly
• Organised and self-motivated, competent with Microsoft Office

Desirable

• High-voltage testing experience
• PCB design or software-based machine control experience
• Customer acceptance testing and writing test procedures
• Background in vacuum, welding or similar specialist equipment
