Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Ltd. seeks an experienced Electrical Test & Commissioning Engineer to support a major warehouse automation project in Coalville, Leicestershire. You will test, commission and validate automated material handling equipment and integration with PLC, SCADA, WMS, and WCS systems.

The role involves fault-finding, SAT support, and close collaboration with project teams on site. A strong background in ASRS, conveyors, and automated machinery is required, with an ECS Card and UK work

Qualifications

• Previous experience in electrical testing and commissioning within automation, material handling, intralogistics environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical control systems and automated machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and control panel documentation.
• Experience fault-finding and resolving issues using JIRA on automated equipment and controls systems.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems, including troubleshooting and commissioning activities.
• Experience working with conveyors, sortation systems, ASRS, cranes, shuttles, or similar automated equipment.
• Familiarity with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLC environments.
• Understanding of SCADA, WCS, and WMS systems and their integration within automated facilities.
• Experience supporting Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), functional testing, and system validation activities.
• ECS Card required.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with engineers, project teams, and customers on site.

• Contract Length: 3-6 Months (Potential Extension)
• Rate: £600 per day Days
• £650 per day nights and late shift
• Inside IR35 Umbrella
• Start Date: December
• Shift Pattern: 7am to 5pm and the odd Night Shift

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting experienced Electrical Test & Commissioning Engineers to support a major warehouse automation project in Coalville, Leicestershire.

Working on behalf of a global leader in automated material handling and intralogistics solutions, you will play a key role in the testing, commissioning, and final delivery of a state-of-the‑art automated distribution centre for one of the UK's largest retailers.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a long‑term automation project involving advanced conveyor systems, automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), robotics, controls systems, and warehouse software integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical testing and commissioning activities on automated material handling equipment.
