A leading company in the space industry seeks an Electrical Test Engineer for a 12-month contract based in Hertfordshire. 12 Month Contract
On-site Hertfordshire
£50-£55 per hour (Inside IR35, Umbrella)

Our market-leading client require a Electrical Test Engineer to join them on a long-term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, debug, and execute complex test sequences for spacecraft systems using the Central Checkout System (CCS).
  • Write and maintain test procedures and reports; support test reviews such as TRRs, PTRs, and NRBs.
  • Provide first-line technical support during test execution and investigate system anomalies.
  • Interpret test requirements from specifications and deliver solutions from planning through to execution.
  • Support spacecraft functional and environmental testing (e.g., TVAC, EMC, Magnetic) and post-test review processes.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Hands-on experience writing spacecraft test sequences/scripts using CCS (Elisa/Java).
  • Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems: power, data handling, AOCS, thermal control, etc.
  • Familiarity with TMTC databases and debugging in Linux/Unix environments (bash scripting).
  • Competence in using test equipment (e.g., DMMs, oscilloscopes, current probes, 1553/SpaceWire analysers).
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft system testing, verification, and configuration management.

Desirable:

  • Programming experience in C, Java, Python, TCL or VBA
  • Knowledge of spacecraft electrical integration and harnessing
