Job summary

XAD Technologies in the United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Installation Engineer to install, test, and maintain electrical systems. You will work to BS 7671 wiring regulations and read technical drawings to support meter gateway installations and smart metering setups.

The role requires an engineering-level electrical qualification or NVQ Level 3, ECS Gold Card, and strong fault-finding skills. You will perform DB wiring, electrical connections, and certification tasks while ensuring safety

Qualifications

Engineering-level qualification in Electrical with UK ENIC equivalency to UK standards.
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
ECS Gold Card is required.
Experience with heating meters, meter gateways, and smart systems.
Strong knowledge of DB installation and power distribution systems.
Knowledge of UK electrical regulations and H&S standards.
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Install, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment
Ensure compliance with BS 7671 wiring regulations
Diagnose faults and perform repairs efficiently
Work on heating meter installations and electrical connections
Install and configure meter gateways / smart metering systems
Add and connect power sources for new and existing installations
Carry out Distribution Board (DB) preparation, wiring, and upgrades
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Conduct inspections and complete certification
