Job summary

Nuclear Inst is seeking an Electrical Technician to join a long-term, on-site role at Aldermaston on a nuclear licensed site. You will install, maintain, repair and test electrical systems, reading schematics and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Suitable candidates will have City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, 18th Edition, and an electrical apprenticeship, with SC clearance or willingness to undergo DV clearance.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering and 18th Edition.
• Experience on nuclear licensed sites or similar high-hazard environments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• SC clearance or willingness to undergo DV clearance.
• Desirable: City & Guilds 2391; CSCS is not listed as required.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.
• Carry out EMIT activities including testing and inspection.
• Support testing, trials and decommissioning tasks.
• Work from schematics, diagrams and drawings to install equipment.
• Ensure installations meet regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Complete and maintain records and documentation.
• Work under Safe Systems of Work with project team direction.
