Job description

Are you an Electrical Technician with a strong background in maintenance and installation, looking for a new opportunity with an excellent work-life balance? We’re recruiting skilled individuals to join a top-tier engineering team in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire. Role Highlights:

  • Position: Electrical Technician
  • Location: Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire
  • Contract Type: Permanent, full-time
  • Hours: 37 hours per week on a 4-day shift pattern
    • Week 1: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm (4th day until 4.30 pm)
    • Week 2: Tuesday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm (4th day until 4:30 pm)
  • Benefits: Comprehensive package, including private healthcare, 5% pension, and life insurance at twice the base salary
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble electronic and electrical subassemblies following schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, and work order instructions
  • Carry out heavy duty cable wiring, deck cable assembly and control system fitting
  • Wire and solder assemblies, including wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, printed circuit boards (PCBs), surface-mount technology (SMT) components, transformer assemblies, control consoles and connectors.
  • Perform troubleshooting and testing to ensure assemblies meet quality standards.
  • Maintain build times for assemblies to achieve the department’s 100% efficiency target.
  • Adhere to safe working practices at all times and ensure all assembly tasks meet department quality standards
  • Ensure all assembly documents are completed
What We’re Looking For:

  • Previously worked in a similar environment with a good understanding of electrical/electronic systems
  • Experience of low voltage AC/DC panel wiring or looming, high voltage installations, Control/Data systems and Fibre Optic handling/termination
  • Have a good awareness of Schedule/Quality and Safety Awareness
  • Work accurately from drawings
  • Be a strong team player
  • Ideally ONC in electrical/electronic or IEEE 18th edition
