Job Title: Electrical Technician or Senior Electrical Technician

We are recruiting for an Electrical Technician or Senior Electrical Technician for our client, a family-owned company located in West Bromwich. The company specializes in organo-sulphur synthesis and high-pressure hydrogenation, supplying organic chemistry services globally, from grams to multi-tonnes quantities.

The company manufactures intermediates for the Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical, and Specialty Chemical industries, among others. Their team of chemists is expert in custom synthesis, contract manufacturing, and process optimization.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced, qualified Electrical Technician to join the Electrical Department. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly skilled Electrical Engineering team at a lower tier COMAH facility. The successful candidate should be available for an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical preventative and reactive maintenance in an industrial environment.
• Carry out electrical plant installation and modifications.
• Conduct statutory inspections.
• Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
• Read and interpret equipment drawings, manuals, and technical information.
• Work in accordance with company safety systems and permit to work procedures.
• Ideally possess a good understanding of ATEX requirements.

Qualifications and Training

• Educated to RQF level 3 (e.g., City & Guilds Level 3) in a practical electrical discipline.
• Recognized electrical apprenticeship is preferred.
• 18th edition electrical wiring regulations is desirable.
• Additional qualifications such as Compex (Ex01-04, Ex05-06) and MEWP training are advantageous but not mandatory.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 per annum (DOE). An additional payment for an electrical call-in rota system (minimum £1,600 per year for a 1 in 4 rota) will be provided once site knowledge is acquired.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
