A leading environmental services provider in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician. You will be responsible for both planned and breakdown maintenance of various electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Ideal candidates will have a recognised apprenticeship and experience in a continuous process industry. This role offers a competitive salary and numerous benefits including annual leave and training opportunities.
Salary: £45,000 per annum plus company vehicle and Veolia benefits
Hours: 42 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm and 4.30pm finish Friday

What you'll be doing:
Take responsibility for planned and breakdown maintenance activities on a wide variety of heavy and light current electrical apparatus in the facility, rotating equipment, switchgear, control equipment, building services etc.
Report, diagnose and remedy plant defects, proposing modifications & plant improvements where appropriate.
Liaise with and support other Company staff such as the maintenance and operations departments.
Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality and Environmental Management System and Health and Safety Policies and become an advocate of the “think safe, work safe, home safe” culture.
Ensure that the facility operates within legal requirements and environmental legislation ISO 9001,1401,1800.
After a period of training and familiarisation, be available on call for out of hours plant technical and breakdown cover on a one week in 4 basis.
The equipment on site includes, but is not limited to, large packaged boilers, biomass and biogas boiler systems, 7 bar steam distribution network, belt press, solids conveying systems, centrifuges and water treatment plant with associated pumps. blowers, tanks and their associated control systems.
What we're looking for:
A recognised apprenticeship (or equivalent) with detailed knowledge of all aspects of electrical maintenance techniques
Experience gained in a continuous process industry
Computer literacy and the ability to train in computerised maintenance systems
Flexibility, with a creative approach to problem-solving
Ability to be contacted, and attend site, outside normal hours when required
Experience with control and instrumentation systems
Experience with PLC controlled systems
