Are you a skilled Electrical Service Technician with CompEx certification and a passion for travel and tackling complex engineering challenges? Join our clients Flying Squad, working globally to install, commission, maintain, and repair cranes and lifting equipment in the oil and gas sector. This dynamic role involves both onshore and offshore assignments, including opportunities to travel abroad.

The Role

  • Commission, maintain, inspect, and service client cranes and lifting equipment onshore and occasionally offshore or overseas.
  • Perform repairs and inspections on various electrical systems and equipment.
  • Conduct fault-finding and repairs on hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Manage the commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of a range of client mechanical equipment.
  • Assist with spares identification and procurement.
  • Produce clear and factual reports for all completed jobs.
  • Plan rigging and lifting operations.
  • Ensure compliance with site Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements.
  • Collaborate with site staff to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Minimise environmental risks during tasks, utilising appropriate controls when offshore.
  • Travel internationally to assist other departments or attend training.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical, or Hydraulic Engineering.
  • Experience in the crane industry; knowledge of Liebherr, Gottwald, and similar brands is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in commissioning and fault-finding on electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical systems.
  • The ability to read and interpret schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance on cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Familiarity with load monitoring equipment such as MIPEG and PAT.
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to produce professional reports.
  • A valid UK/Ireland driving licence.
  • BOSIET and MIST training certifications (essential).
  • Comfort working at heights and in challenging environments.

Salary: Circa £65k OTE in the first year, inclusive of basic salary, day rate and loyalty bonus, including paid travel days.
