Electrical Technician - Manufacturing

Are you an experienced electrical technician who can hit the ground running in a new role? Do you enjoy a varied workload where not every day is the same?

Our Opportunity

Due to demand, we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Maritime Mission Systems business unit in Templecombe.

With experience building electrical or electro-mechanical assemblies, you’ll perform manufacturing tasks in accordance with engineering drawings to the required quality standards.

The product range is diverse; one day, you’ll work on a small, detailed board, and another day, on a large-scale sonar product. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from a large, experienced, and knowledgeable team, with potential career progression into Manufacturing, Quality, People Management, or Engineering, all fully supported by Thales.

The role is based at our Templecombe manufacturing site. You will work a 4-day week, Monday to Thursday, with 9.25 hours per day.

Key duties:
  • Produce on time and to quality standards the manufacture of electrical assemblies
  • Escalate blockers and issues to the team leader
  • Escalate health and safety issues to the team leader
  • Ensure 5S standards are met
  • Log and escalate any quality non-conformances to the inspector or quality representative
  • Ensure all incidents are logged correctly and escalated to H&S leaders as appropriate
Experience:
  • Experience building electrical or electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Experience in wiring
  • Ability to interpret drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Eligible to obtain full SC clearance (UK only)
  • Working within IPC standards
