Job description
Electrical Technician (Panel Wirer)

The Opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing production team, working on the assembly and build of high-tech, cutting-edge products. You will be involved in developing new capabilities and working on some of the most complex system configurations. This role requires a strong engineering background alongside high-level technical skills and knowledge.

This is a shift-based role, with a weekly pattern of 4 shifts of 8 hours and 1 shift of 5 hours. Current shifts rotate between early (starting at 06:00) and afternoon (starting at 14:00).

Responsibilities
  • Electrical soldering (mainly cable wire soldering, not PCB)
  • Building systems, sub-assemblies, and piece parts to the right quality standards and schedules
  • Ensuring compliance with BOM and customer specifications
  • Identifying and resolving build problems
  • Reporting technical issues via internal processes
  • Maintaining technical competence through training
  • Supporting colleagues with build sequence awareness
  • Guiding and training less experienced technicians
  • Maintaining high standards of build cleanliness, housekeeping, and safety, while promoting 5S initiatives
  • Contributing to continuous improvement within the production team
  • Working on a rotating shift basis as scheduled by the team leader
About You / Qualifications
  • Experience in electrical soldering, crimping, and looming (panel wiring).
  • Strong detail wiring skills, including lead-free soldering and reading electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, fault-find, and implement corrective actions.
  • Electrical qualifications such as a time-served apprenticeship, City & Guilds Part 3, HND, HNC, or BTEC Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • I deally, a mix of mechanical, electrical, and electronic assembly skills.
  • PC literacy and good communication skills.
  • High standards of quality, reliability, punctuality, and teamwork.
  • Previous experience in sectors such as aerospace, electronics, or semiconductor industries is desirable but not essential.
Salary & Shift Pattern

£32,000 - £36,000 base salary + 17.5% shift allowance (10% for mornings, 25% for afternoons).

Total earnings: £38,400 - £43,200 per year.

Shift Hours
  • Monday to Thursday: 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm
  • Friday: 6am-12pm or 12pm-5pm

(30-minute meal break included, with part of it paid, plus refreshment breaks.)
