Valero Pembrokeshire Oil Terminal (VPOT) is recruiting an Electrical Technician to provide electrical expertise for the site. The role involves carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and testing to ensure safe and reliable operations at the terminal.

Ideal candidates will have an electrical apprenticeship, GCSEs, and ideally an HNC in Electrical discipline, with experience in oil, gas, petrochemical or similar processes. A lunch allowance is part of the package.

Qualificações

• Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ GCSEs in core subjects.
• HNC in an Electrical discipline (desirable).

Valero Pembrokeshire Oil Terminal, (VPOT), are recruiting for an Electrical Technician.

VPOT is a fuel storage and handling facility, utilising a marine import system, above ground storage tanks & connection to a cross-country pipeline to manage the safe receipt and distribution of refined petroleum product.

We are looking for a skilled candidate with relevant industrial experience or similar transferable skills, capable of providing the site with electrical expertise.

The Electrical Technician will help the terminal carry out regular site inspections, electrical system monitoring, fault finding and maintenance activities, ensuring facilities are operated safely and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

• Planned maintenance activities
• Reactive maintenance and breakdown response
• Electrical fault finding and rectification
• Electrical testing of cables and systems
• Hazardous area inspections
• Installation of electrical systems and containment
• Permit to Work responsibilities
• Use of computer maintenance management system (CMMS)

Technical Understanding

• Hazardous area equipment classification, inspection, maintenance and selection
• Comprehensive knowledge of installation, maintenance and switching of 11kV systems
• Comprehensive knowledge of installation, maintenance and switching of 3.3kV systems
• Comprehensive knowledge of LV systems (415V and below)
• Working knowledge of the latest electrical regulations
• Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies

Minimum Qualifications

• Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent relevant experience
• Good standard of education (5+ GCSE’s in core subjects – minimum requirement)
• Experience in the oil, gas, petrochemical or similar process industries
• Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications
• HNC in an Electrical discipline (desirable)
