Job description

GPS Recruitment has a new position with a leader in the lighting industry, supplying bespoke system solutions across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, and heritage sites.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to provide expert guidance to Production through wiring diagrams and demonstrations. This role serves as the reference point for best practices in wiring and testing across the business.

Full training will be provided on company software systems and other business aspects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Control: Conduct weekly random inspections of finished products, including reporting and professional feedback on errors.
2. Product Design: Specify electronic components for new products and specials, assist with calculations of loading, and assess supplier product ranges. Hands-on tasks include building prototypes and photometric assessments.
3. Project Design: Calculate loading for bespoke luminaires to meet customer briefs, including controls. Main deliverables are component specifications and design communication.
4. Aftersales: Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders, and determine fault responsibilities.
5. Qualifications: Electrical and Electronic Engineering HND/degree or similar.
6. Experience: Minimum 3 years in electrical manufacturing.

Preferred but not essential credentials include:

• 18th Edition Regulations
• AutoCAD or similar software
