Job summary

Essity in Flint, UK is seeking a Shift Technician – Electrical & Instrumental biased to join our site manufacturing team. You will work on a 4 on, 6 off shift pattern and ensure continuous operation of fast-paced paper machines in a 24/7 environment.

The role focuses on preventive and predictive maintenance, KPI delivery, and coaching colleagues; strong electrical, mechanical and instrumentation expertise is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven electrical, mechanical and instrumentation experience in heavy industry or process environments.
• Completed a recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship, preferably City & Guilds or NVQ3.
• Experience maintaining complex automated manufacturing systems and equipment.
• Strong faultfinding and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Knowledge of process instrumentation and pneumatic/hydraulic components.
• Ability to plan and work to tight timelines with multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out defined preventive and predictive maintenance on paper machines.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes to root cause with the team for rapid resolution.
• Work to KPIs and site objectives, including out of hours support when required.
• Support and coach colleagues in handling technical issues and projects.

Shift Technician – Electrical & Instrumental Biased

About the Role

Our focus is on continuous improvement and maintaining anexcellent H&S environment.As an Electrical and Instrumental Technician, working a 4 on, 6 off shift pattern, you will play a key part in ensuring that our fast-paced papermaking machines operate effectively to meet the demands of a 24/7 production environment.

You will be accountable for defined maintenance activities based on both predictive and preventative maintenance to ensure both key performance indicators (KPI’s) and site objectives are met.

What You Will Do

With a good safety focus you will be responsible for defined preventive and predictive maintenance on our paper machines. Trouble shoot equipment/process problems to root cause in conjunction with team members to ensure the rapid resolution of problems.

Day to day, you will be hands on working to key performance indicators (KPIs) ensuring that through continuous improvement activity as well as planned maintenance, the objectives are met, which may include out of hours support. You will also support and coach colleagues in handling various technical issues.

You will work to all company standards including safety andquality; and work on medium and longer-term projects to improve the efficiencies of the mill.

Who You Are

As a Technician, you will have:

• Proven Electrical, Mechanical and instrumentation experience in a heavy industry, manufacturingor process environment
• Completed a recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship preferably with a City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ 3 qualification
• Proven experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing systems and equipment
• Strong troubleshooting skills for technical issues with the ability to problem solve using root cause analysis
• Proven fault-finding skills
• Knowledge of process instrumentation
• Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic components
• Be a driventeam player with good planning and mentoring skills
• Ability to plan and work to tight timelines while managing several tasks
• Strong communication skills
• Strong PC skills (excel, word, project)

Although not essential, the following would be desirable:

• Relevant HNC level qualification
• High Voltage experience
• Knowledge of boiler & burner systems
• Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (MEWPS) Licence
• Papermaking experience
