Job summary

Recruit Mint Ltd is seeking an Electrical Technician for a renewable energy operation near Ely. The role is outdoors and hands-on, not a desk job, with a four-on, four-off days pattern (12-hour shifts on site, 6am–6pm).

You will maintain and improve electrical systems across plant operations, ensuring safety and efficiency in a dynamic environment. A full UK driving licence and a hands-on problem-solving attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Industrial electrical maintenance experience.
• Electrical breakdown repair, maintenance and installation.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostics for electrical systems.
• Control panel modification, three-phase systems and safety circuits.
• Motor testing, inverter drives and 4-20mA instrumentation signals.
• Good mechanical aptitude around plant machinery.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance in line with maintenance schedules.
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults across site systems and equipment.
• Performing electrical repairs, installations, inspections and testing to a high standard.
• Modifying and maintaining control panels.
• Supporting breakdown investigations and returning equipment to service quickly and safely.
• Working on motors, drives, instrumentation, control systems and process equipment.
• Fault-finding on three-phase electrical systems and safety circuits.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records using company logging systems.
• Supporting mechanical maintenance activities where required.

Electrical Technician

This is an Electrical Technician role with a growing renewable energy business near Ely, on a days-only four-on, four-off shift pattern.

As an Electrical Technician you will maintain and improve the electrical systems that keep a growing renewable energy operation running safely and efficiently, working on the plants that turn organic waste into clean energy. It is a highly varied, hands-on role, from planned preventative maintenance and fault-finding through to installations, testing, inspections and breakdown response. Be clear on one thing: this is not a desk job. Up to 90% of your time will be spent outdoors across operational plant areas, often at height and in all weathers. If you are a practical, self-motivated Electrical Technician who enjoys problem-solving and wants your skills to count towards a more sustainable future, this role delivers exactly that, on a days-only pattern with real time off.

Job Responsibilities

Skills and Experience

• Industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience


• Experience of electrical breakdown repair, maintenance and installation


• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostics skills


• Experience of control panel modification, three-phase systems and safety circuits


• Experience of motor testing, inverter drives and 4-20mA instrumentation and control signals


• Good mechanical aptitude and confidence working around plant machinery


• A full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK

Desirable

• PLC and I/O fault-finding, SCADA and industrial networks experience is desirable


• An HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and City & Guilds 2391 or 2392 is desirable


• A 16th, 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification, which is desirable

Pay and Benefits

• A salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience


• A days-only, four-on, four-off, 12-hour shift pattern with overtime available


• 6am to 6pm
