Job description

Job Title: Electrical Technician – Shift Work – London

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, motors, batteries, UPS systems, MCCs, and control panels

  • Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical systems

  • Diagnose and resolve faults on PLCs, variable frequency drives, pneumatics, and wider automation equipment

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure high equipment reliability across heavy industrial processes

  • Work on a rotating shift pattern with occasional overtime and on-call responsibilities

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent trade qualification in Electrical Engineering

  • Strong electrical background in heavy industry, utilities, process plants, or similar environments

  • Experience with troubleshooting, planned maintenance, and complex electrical installations

  • Hands-on knowledge of MCCs, PLCs, drives, pneumatics, switchgear, and transformers

  • Ability to work effectively on rotating shifts

Shift Pattern:

  • 2 Days / 3 Nights / 4 Off

  • 3 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off

  • Typical hours: 6am–6pm / 6pm–6am
