Electrical Technician Industrial Plant Operations

Location: Avonmouth, Bristol (BS11)

Salary: £45,700 per annum + £2,100 on-call allowance (before callouts)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 15:30

On-Call Rota: 1 week in 4

We are currently recruiting an experienced Electrical Technician to join a well-established process facility in Avonmouth. This is a key role within the on-site engineering team, responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of all mechanical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform routine maintenance and repair of electrical equipment.
2. Diagnose faults and undertake corrective and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime.
3. Participate in the delivery of plant improvement projects, focusing on increased reliability and cost reduction.
4. Interpret and work from P&IDs and instrument loop drawings to guide your work.
5. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and assist in contractor coordination when required.
6. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
7. Take part in the on-call rota (1 in 4 weeks) to respond to breakdowns outside regular working hours.

Ideal Candidate Profile

1. Qualification in Electrical Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent).
2. Previous experience working in a process or manufacturing environment.
3. Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
4. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
5. Comfortable working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
