Electrical System Design Engineer, Portsmouth, Hampshire

This position is based in Alzenau / Frankfurt in Germany, with responsibilities for Hyundai’s global motorsport activities, primarily for its World Rally Championship program.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical systems, including circuit design, wiring, fusing, and electrical packaging.
• Create schematics and 2D harness drawings following industry standards.
• Develop and release solutions for electrical packages and wiring systems for vehicles.
• Utilize Catia V5 design tools, including electrical harness workbench, to create detailed harness routes and feasible design solutions from the conceptual phase.
• Present design information for project reviews.
• Conduct vehicle fault analysis and modify electrical harnesses as needed.
• Support program launch engineering and manufacturing, providing guidance for installation and rework.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in electrical discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in motorsport industry.
• Organized, flexible, and capable of adapting to last-minute issues.
• Fluent in English.
• Knowledge of High Voltage Systems and Motorsport Looms.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Outlook) and Catia V5.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
