Job description

The successful candidate will act as the Day Supervisor on a day-to-day basis, responsible for isolating/restoring power and issuing PTW to contractors involved in the fit-out of 21 Moorfields. This is a temporary position potentially lasting until the end of 2024, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in training, familiarisation with the building and its systems, and support the creation of processes and building setup.
  2. Witness/shadow commissioning activities and review project documentation.
  3. Support the operation of a smart building featuring integrated systems, BIM platform, and client concierge system.
  4. Undertake safe isolation and restoration of LV circuits, issue safety documents, and support fit-out activities post-shell and core stage.
  5. Maintain systems and assets using digital tools and platforms, embracing new technologies.
  6. Develop understanding of building functions through drills, assessments, and training.
  7. Liaise with contractors, shift teams, and managers to plan and execute works.
  8. Assist maintenance teams and manage permit requests and records.
  9. Investigate faults, identify root causes, and report failures.
  10. Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
  11. Support compliance with safety, quality, and best practice standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience as a building services engineer (Electrical Bias).
  • HV switching experience (11kV, 33kV desirable).
  • Knowledge of building services, critical environments, and safety standards.
  • Qualifications: HV switching, C&G 2391, IOSH, City & Guilds electrical competency, 18th Edition BS7671.
  • Knowledge of BMS, HVAC, life safety, power distribution, smart buildings, IoT, energy management.
  • Practical electrical experience in building services.
  • Strong communication skills and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team, including weekends if needed.
  • Experience with HV operations and critical services in data centres or banking environments.
