Better places, thriving communities. Electrical Supervisor - FTC Mitie is currently recruiting an Approved Electrician to join Mitie Electrical Team at our NRS Harwell Branch in Oxfordshire. The successful candidate would have the following job responsibilities:

Responsibilities
  • To be appointed as Authorised Person for electrical works on Mitie and client system
  • Task Supervisor under NRS''s safety appointments regime – training will be provided
  • Line management of Electrical operatives, including induction, pre and post job briefing, technical advice and support, health and safety and performance management
  • Duties involve planned and reactive maintenance of various client buildings, including inspection and testing, emergency light testing, PAT testing, RCD testing, installation of new equipment or replacement/repair of lamps, sockets etc.
  • Work independently when needed but cooperate within a team, assisting other trades when required
  • Communicate effectively with clients and suppliers (written and verbal)
  • Be part of the on-call rota and manage an effective emergency call-out service for electrical operatives, ensuring out-of-hours support for NRS in case of breakdown
What we are looking for / Qualifications
  • Carry out duties with due regard to current good practice and Health and Safety legislation
  • Experience with commercial and industrial installations; competent with testing and inspection (or equivalent)
  • Fully conversant with latest wiring regulations and competent with completing NICEIC Certificates; opportunity to be NICEIC Qualified Supervisor for company
  • Company transport provided for work use
  • Physical/dexterity: manual handling ability; assist with minor building fabric repairs; carry out ad hoc general minor repairs as required
  • Contractor escort duties; able to work in a demanding and busy area
  • Basic computer knowledge (desirable)
  • Flexible/adaptable approach; friendly and approachable; proactive; able to work with minimal supervision
  • Sets and maintains high standards of delivery; attention to detail essential
  • Willingness to work on the on-call rota
  • Willing to work with radiological controlled areas and wear relevant RPE when required; ability to become a monitored radiation worker after medicals and relevant training
  • Willingness to wear Radiological Protection Equipment and Electrical PPE as required
  • 9 days fortnight schedule; 18th Edition in electrical installation; NVQ Level 3 in electro-technical services - Electrical Installation; City & Guilds or /95 testing and inspection; City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent
  • English speaking; previous maintenance experience in a commercial environment
  • Flexibility to carry out duties not specific to trade; full clean driving licence
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices; mandatory safety training provided; IPAF and PASMA certification preferred
  • Strong customer care focus; baseline security clearance advantageous
