Job summary

JD Ross Energy is seeking an Electrical Supervisor to oversee EV charging installation projects across the UK. The role combines hands-on electrical expertise with team leadership, ensuring safe, on-time delivery within budget.

You will coordinate labour across sites, review designs, manage RAMS, and mentor installation teams while maintaining high standards of workmanship and client communication.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience supervising electrical installation teams.
  • Strong background in commercial and/or industrial electrical projects.
  • Knowledge of BS7671 regulations and QA standards.
  • Experience reviewing RAMS and site documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deploy labour across multiple UK projects.
  • Manage schedules for Electrical Installers and review designs.
  • Produce material take-offs for procurement.
  • Ensure installations meet BS7671 and quality standards.
  • Review and approve RAMS and method statements (RAMS).
  • Conduct site inspections and safety audits.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and promote safety culture.
  • Sign off electrical certification per NICEIC standards.
  • Support project handovers with complete documentation.
  • Mentor installation teams and provide technical guidance.
  • Troubleshoot on-site technical challenges and improvements.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders.

Electrical Supervisor - EV Charging - North Yorkshire / London

The Role

As an Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical installation projects across the UK, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and fully compliant with BS7671 regulations.

Working closely with Project Managers, installers, and operational teams, you will provide technical leadership, manage site quality, coordinate resources, and ensure a consistently high standard of workmanship. This role is ideal for an experienced electrician who enjoys combining hands-on technical expertise with team leadership and project oversight.

Responsibilities:
  • Support Project Managers with planning and deployment of labour resources across multiple projects.
  • Manage schedules and daily activity planning for Electrical Installers.
  • Review technical designs and produce material take-offs for procurement requirements.
  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with BS7671 and company quality standards.
  • Review, challenge, and approve site-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and Health & Safety assessments.
  • Deliver Toolbox Talks and promote a strong safety culture across all sites.
  • Review, prepare, and sign off electrical certification in line with NICEIC or equivalent standards.
  • Support project handovers by ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership to installation teams.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, problem-solving, and resolving technical challenges on-site.
  • Maintain excellent communication with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven experience supervising electrical installation teams.
  • Strong background in commercial and/or industrial electrical projects.
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification.
  • City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) Inspection and Testing qualification.
  • JIB or CSCS Card.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and people management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • Authorised Person (Low Voltage) experience.
  • Previous experience within EV charging infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy or electrical infrastructure installation projects.
  • Experience working across multiple project locations.
