If you're an experienced electrical professional with leadership experience and a passion for maintaining excellence, we want to hear from you.

About the Role:

As Electrical Works Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a skilled team of electrical tradespeople and contractors, ensuring that both routine and project-based maintenance works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily deployment and supervision of electrical maintenance staff and external contractors.
  • Managing preventative maintenance, heating and BMS systems, and signing off installation/test certificates.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including RAMS, toolbox talks, and site documentation.
  • Supporting recruitment, staff development, and annual reporting.
  • Providing technical input to projects and events, occasionally out of hours (paid overtime or TOIL).
  • Participating in the on-call Rota (approx. once per month) with vehicle and allowance provided.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Electrical Regulations (18th Edition).
  • Previous experience in staff supervision or team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety best practices.
  • Proficient IT skills – especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.

What’s on Offer:

  • The Charity offers a generous benefits package on top of the salary of Circa £38,000 based on 35 hours per week including: Civil Service Pension Scheme – with 28% employer contribution
  • 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 after 3 years) + 11.5 public holidays
  • Paid professional subscriptions
  • Study leave and training support
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Free access to heritage sites across Scotland, England, Wales, and the Isle of Man (for you + up to 3 guests)

There is an uplift for overtime and also for a one in 5 week on call Rota.

This is a permanent opportunity to grow your career while contributing to the care of some of Scotland’s most treasured landmarks.
